Cramond

This time we headed east to the Firth of Forth on a fairly warm if cloudy spring day.

After a coffee stop in Dobbies, Livingston, the Club bus travelled to the Silverknowes Promenade, where the main walk of 9.5 miles began, continuing to Cramond, the River Almond Walkway, the Dalmeny Estate, the wooded Shore Walk, past Barnbougle Castle and ending up in South Queensferry, where the social hour was enjoyed in the beer garden of the Hawes Inn right beside the Forth Rail Bridge.

The alternative walk of 6 miles followed much of the same route but avoided the one hilly bit the main walkers encountered – a flight of 79 steps!

Everyone agreed this was one of the Club’s most enjoyable days out.
