Strathblane and Milngavie

Spring was definitely in the air as we visited Strathblane and Milngavie.  Constant sunshine was an unexpected bonus to a great day out in the countryside.

The main walk of over 10 miles started at Strathblane and followed the Loch Katrine water pipe track to Glengoyne distillery (right on the boundary between the Highlands and the Lowlands!) and then followed the West Highland Way to Milngavie.

The alternative walkers kept close to Milngavie through country parks and woodlands and around reservoirs, coping well with a slightly longer walk than the planned 6 miles as an unexpected path closure forced them to amend the route.

Before the walks there was a coffee stop at Dobbies, Milngavie and well-earned refreshments were enjoyed at the customary social hour in the Talbot Arms afterwards.
